The AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort, a Michelin Key One-Key property, offers a sophisticated and comfortable stay amidst the stunning Swiss Alps, blending modern design with a welcoming atmosphere.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently rating it highly. It boasts an excellent overall rating of 9.5, with specific scores like 8.8 on Booking.com, 9.2 on Hotels.com and Expedia, and 4.4/5 on TripAdvisor. The sentiment is consistently described as excellent, modern, clean, and comfortable, making it a highly recommended choice for both leisure and business travelers.

2. Key Highlights

Guests particularly appreciate the resort's comprehensive wellness offerings, including the expansive 850 m² "4 elements spa" with an indoor pool, various saunas, a steam room, and a Turkish bath, all complimentary for hotel guests. The exceptional service and the genuinely friendly, helpful, and attentive staff are frequently highlighted. The hotel's modern design, appealing ambiance, and the comfortable rooms with balconies often offering impressive mountain views are also significant draws. The breakfast is consistently praised for its quality and variety.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort are characterized by their cleanliness, spaciousness, and modern Alpine-chic design, sometimes with traditional Alpine elements like pine paneling and faux fur. They are equipped with modern comforts, including comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms (often with spacious showers), and balconies that provide mountain views. High-tech amenities such as free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs are standard. Some rooms on the fourth floor are noted to include a complimentary mini-bar upon arrival.

4. Dining Experience

The resort offers a diverse culinary experience with a focus on healthy, regional, and seasonal cuisine. The main restaurant, BACiO della MAMMA, serves authentic Italian dishes such as antipasti, homemade pasta, and oven-fresh pinsa romana in a Mediterranean-inspired setting. During the winter season, Cervolino provides a cozy ambiance for enjoying Graubünden specialties, including cheese fondue and fondue chinoise, using high-quality ingredients and local Davos dairy cheeses. Breakfast is generally well-regarded for its extensive buffet, though one guest noted it had limited options, lacking natural juices, a live cooking station for eggs, and a broader pastry selection. The Scaletta Bar offers a selection of wines and local beers, and room service is available. Half-board options, including a 4-course dinner, are also available.

5. Service & Staff

The service and staff receive consistent accolades for being outstanding, excellent, and exceptionally friendly and helpful. Guests have noted their attentiveness and commitment to providing personalized service, going the extra mile to ensure a comfortable and welcoming stay, and offering valuable assistance with local activities and transport.

6. Location & Accessibility

The AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort boasts a central and convenient location in Davos, directly opposite the Davos Congress Centre. This prime spot makes it an ideal base for exploring Davos's attractions, including the Kirchner Museum, and for accessing the region's renowned ski slopes and extensive hiking trails. Guests benefit from complimentary use of the local bus network, with a bus stop ("Schiabach") just a two-minute walk away, providing easy access to various parts of Davos. The Davos Dorf train station is approximately a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

7. Value & Pricing

Guests generally consider the AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort to offer good value for money. Typical room rates range from $201 to $250 per night, which is in line with the average pricing for hotels in Davos. The hotel often provides special offers such as "Stay 4, Pay 3" and half-board packages to enhance value. It's important to note that self-parking costs CHF 25 per night during the winter season (November to April) and CHF 15 per night during the summer season (May to October). Additionally, a city tax of CHF 5.90 per person, per night (for guests aged 12 and older) is applied separately.

8. Common Complaints

While generally highly rated, some guests have voiced a few recurring criticisms. A consistent complaint revolves around the temperature of the indoor pool, which some find to be too cold. One guest reported limited breakfast options, specifically mentioning the absence of natural juices, a live cooking station for eggs, and a broader pastry selection, describing it as below the expected standard for a high-end hotel. The same guest also experienced inconvenience when the hotel restaurant was fully booked for dinner on their first night and noted a lack of flexibility and empathy from staff regarding a booking adjustment request made just outside the free cancellation period. Parking can also be a point of concern, with limited availability of garage spaces and instances of guests receiving fines.

I wish Google offered detailed rating for hotels. We spent a few days at the Ameron hotel in Davos to enjoy local slopes. The reception, bar, and restaurant staff members were absolutely wonderful, offering true hospitality with a combination of human warmth and professionalism. Pity that we had multiple glitches with housekeeping, which signalled somehow superficial approaches. The location is ...

AMERON Davos is more than just a hotel—it’s a luxurious place where you can relax and feel completely rejuvenated. The facilities are beyond perfect, especially the spa, which has everything you could possibly imagine in terms of amenities and equipment. 1. Location: it might say walking distance to the lifts, but reality is this is 1km or 2 bus stations (busses are overfilled so loads of pushing to get in) 2. Ski room is a mess (no allocated spots for skis / boots for the rooms so people end up picking something looking like their material! 3. Dogs are allowed, so not recommended in case you are allergic (we had small hair on sheets, carpet, cush...

Great location, well appointed rooms, and very nice touches like you call for warm milk with honey at bedtime, pillow menu, relaxation tips, etc! The bar is good, and staff is super courteous. The Italian restaurant can be a hit or a miss at dinner, would recommend not to go for half board but rather order ala carte from the full menu. The breakfast is average.

The Hotel is ok. But stay away from Davos. Very ugly city. And the ski resort is way too expensive.
